Information
Manually input the following server details into your TeamTalk client to gain access to chat with other listeners and presenters.
Host: tt.magic109.com
TCP/UDP Ports: 10700
Username: Your registered name.
Password: Your chosen password.
Note: Do not attempt to login more than four times in 60-seconds. This will ban your IP address from connecting to our TeamTalk server. If you forgot your password, you are encouraged to contact us immediately!
Tips and Tricks
The following are some tips and tricks to help make your experience a more pleasurable and enjoyable one on TeamTalk.
- If using the PC/Windows client, go to ‘Preferences’, select ‘System Sounds’, select the ‘Windows Audio Session’ radio button, and choose your input and output devices. To improve the audio quality, in most cases, you’ll want to uncheck all the checkboxes. Using AGC and the other related features sometimes degrades the clarity of how you sound to others.
- If using ‘Virtual Audio Cable’ to pipe audio into TeamTalk, set it as your input device. If using ‘Virtual Audio Cable’ to pipe audio from TeamTalk, set it as your output device. Keep in mind, configuring your virtual audio cable is something that is not included in these tips and tricks.
- Do not use the earpiece on your phone. Instead, find a headset with a microphone. Using the earpiece on some phones actually routes audio into TeamTalk, causing system sounds to be heard as if they were intentionally being streamed. These system sounds include; notification sounds, vibrations, texts, any voiceover or talkback, and more!
- You can mute your transmission by turning off voice activation. Alternatively, you can mute TeamTalk by muting it. Keep in mind though, that unless you do both, everyone will still hear you.
- If you’re a screen reader on Windows, to avoid the ‘progress bar sound’ while using TeamTalk, you can either use the push to talk function or turn your voice activation level to ‘0%’ so that your VU meter doesn’t trigger it.
- If streaming a media file, it’s better to use ‘Stream media file’ as it has independent volume controls, so if it’s too loud or soft, compared to your voice, others can choose to adjust it accordingly.
- You can pan users in TeamTalk so that they are in 3D. This is not a good idea. It can be somewhat distracting and can really get messed up if someone is using a stereo input device.
- Each input device has it’s happy place. The master volume and mic input volumes might be completely different from someone else’s. You can test your input and output devices from the ‘Sound System’ tab in Preferences though.
- If you are blind or visually impaired, consider going to ‘Display’ and unchecking the ‘Vu Meter’ in there. Doing this allows you to keep your voice activation level higher than 0% if that is your prerogative.
